For over ten years, Ashley Szala has worked
with children and families across the country. Ashley has worked in a wide
range of behavioral roles. Including acting as the lead therapist on an
Intensive Behavior Treatment Team conducting Applied Behavior Analysis, working
as a behavior specialist in developmental disabilities classrooms, and as a
lead teacher for several inclusive preschool programs. Ashley is known for her
relentless positivity working with children and teaching families how to
extinguish unwanted behaviors through simple, practical, and fun tools. She
believes deeply in caring for the people who care for children and develops
deep bonds with the families she works with.
Ashley is a Parent Educator with Parents as Teachers and the Parent Coordinator for Momentum Behavioral Services.
Is a licensed clinical social worker in Rhode Island and Massachusetts with almost 15 years of social work experience. She has worked in a variety of settings doing individual, group, and family therapy with children, adolescents, and families. She currently teaches in the Social Work departments at Providence College and Simmons University and provides continuing education workshops and trainings to educators, mental health professionals, and other community organizations. She is also pursuing her PhD in social work.
I am the Student Assistance Counselor at Barrington Middle School. This is my 5th year in this position. As a certified Student Assistance Counselor(CSAC), I educate and support the BMS community about substance abuse prevention and early intervention services. I use different modalities within the school environment to provide services, which include individual and group meetings, as well as classroom presentations and assemblies. I have supported adolescents with their mental health in various school settings for the past 12 years.
Ann Allain, LMHC
Has worked as the School Counselor at St. Andrew's School in Barrington, RI for the past 15 years.
St. Andrew's has been both work and home for Ann and her two children, living on campus and attending St. Andrew's.
Ann also enjoys working with clients for therapy through Barrington Behavioral Health Services, formerly Feil and Oppenheimer Psychological Services. As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, LMHC, she pursues professional development related to the treatment of children and adolescents, anxiety, depression, and trauma.
